Our parent company, AFBA was founded at a time when commercial companies would not pay life insurance benefits if a servicemember died in combat. 

5Star Life Insurance Company was established to provide AFBA members coverage tailored to the unique needs of service life. Since then, 5Star Life has grown and evolved into other segments including the employer group and worksite benefits markets. 

5Star Life takes over coverage for AFBA life insurance member benefits from prior carrier. Dedicated to a positive member experience.

We enter the worksite voluntary benefits market offering life insurance coverage to individuals who make our communities thrive and their families.

We added a Quality of Life rider to our life insurance product to help ensure stability for families in cases of permanent inability to perform activities of daily living, or permanent severe cognitive impairment.

Our accident and healthcare indemnity products were introduced to supplement existing coverage and provide protection for all of life’s unexpected turns.

We opened our Lincoln, Nebraska office that includes our Claims Ambassadors who help assist family members, beneficiaries, and our business partners navigate the claims process. 

We launched our group Family Protection Plan to provide valuable coverage that can complement any employer provided or privately held plan.

Expanded our presence in Lincoln, Nebraska to handle full administration of worksite business.
