The 5Star Life Insurance Company (5Star Life) has a proud and unique heritage as a related enterprise of the Armed Forces Benefit Association (AFBA). The Armed Forces Benefit Association (AFBA) is a not-for-profit association established in 1947 to promote the general welfare and economic interests of military families during war and peace. Over time, we have expanded membership eligibility to also serve federal government employees and contractors, as well as first responders – law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.

Founded in 1996, 5Star Life is AFBA’s principal underwriter for member insurance products. This has allowed AFBA to continue to stand by our country’s armed forces providing access to life insurance and other member benefits in both war and peace for over 70 years. Through the years, 5Star Life has grown and evolved with market opportunities successfully expanding into other segments including the employer group and worksite benefits markets. This history and a deep sense of service provide us with a unique perspective and dedication to all our partners.
